After the first year of hard work, exciting activities and real commitment of the entire partnership, FoodChains 4 EU project steps up to the next level : the peer reviews , organized in each partner region.
The first one is scheduled to take place early in 2018, hosted in Greater Manchester (UK) by our partners : Oldham County Council and Manchester Metropolitan University .
The focus provided by the host region is on how to improve access to good food by addressing regional policy priorities around:
- Food Poverty – using innovation to tackle fair access to food
- Food Enterprise – using innovation for growth
- Food Procurement – increasing sustainable food procurement
- Food Waste – reducing waste in the supply chain.
The host hopes that the peer review will contribute to informing and influencing regional policy by proving a better understanding of how to make food a specific area of attention for regional/local policies. Also, the peer review will be a good catalyst for change by bringing together partners to discuss changes across the supply chain and will inspire collaboration among local food producers/community groups/businesses.
Each region will provide relevant experts, able to tackle the theme of the peer review and contribute to the process of sharing different experiences in the learning process.
