Green Business Success Stories
In November 2022, the third edition of the 'Your Business under the Flag of Success' competition was held in West Pomerania. The competition attracted a record interest of 146 entrepreneurs. The award ceremony will take place on 6 February 2023 at a gala event, which will also open the Year of Entrepreneurship in West Pomerania.
Among the ten finalists were several companies that are committed to environmental protection. Today you can read about four: EasyFootings Henryk Zawiślak, Simply More Mikołaj Łopatto, Towarzystwo Handlowe ALPLAST and Olma (Eco Practic).
'Your Business under the Flag of Success'
The 'Your Business under the Flag of Success' competition aims at entrepreneurs who strengthen the economic and social potential of West Pomerania through the development of their businesses. These can be micro, small and medium-sized enterprises characterised by modernity, creativity, perseverance and reliability.
They offer innovative products and services, create jobs, implement bold ideas and cooperate with science. The competition prizes are vouchers that can be used to finance training, participation in trade fairs and conferences and other development services.
EasyFootings is a company focused on modern and ecological foundation solutions. The company manufactures foundations according to the circular economy principles so that at the end of its life cycle, the product is disassembled at the investment and 100% recycled.
Simply More is an innovative company that produces cosmetics with minimal ingredients that are 100% natural. They create minimalist formulas with a strong emphasis on selecting natural, high-quality ingredients. As one of the few cosmetics companies on the market, they take an innovative approach to business by adhering to the principle of 'less is more'. It applies not only to the number of products and ingredients but also to the environmental impact.
The company reduces its global carbon footprint by minimising the amount of packaging, if only by not using cardboard boxes. Labels are printed on recycled material, and packaging is sourced from manufacturers in Poland and Germany. This way, the company reduces the CO2 emissions associated with transport from Asia.
In addition, bottles made from a material based on sugar cane are used.
ALPLAST is the only Polish company that has developed and implemented a unique system for producing tool-free computer enclosures on a European scale and has introduced a patented solution for modular power supplies DC. In 2020, as part of the fight against the COVID -19 pandemic, the company developed and produced proprietary protection solutions, including a range of touchless disinfection devices.
Olma (Eco Practic) is a family-owned company that manufactures 100% biodegradable (compostable) bags and pouches for home use. The uniqueness of the company's products is evident in the fact that they are made from 100% plants - 40% corn starch, 50% PBAT and 9.99% edible vegetable glycerine. They are all fully compostable and biodegradable.
The competition 'Your Business under the Flag of Success' is implemented within the framework of the Regional Operational Programme of the Zachodniopomorskie Voivodeship 2014 - 2020, Priority Axis 1 Economy, Innovation, Modern Technologies, Measure 1.14 Strengthening the position of the regional economy in the national and international dimension.
