IMPROVE project`s Study visit in Rovaniemi Lapland was held 22 March. Lapland`s Arctic Smartness concpet and working group as good parctices identified within the project were introduced to Partners from Extremadura and Gabrovo. Besides the presentations discussion reflected visiting partners experiences to presented practices.
Meeting started with presentation about Arctic Smartness concept, Lapland`s smart specialisation strategy and cluster approach. In addition, role of University of Lapland was presented as a key actor in ecosystem. Based on presentations, discussion arised from themes such as management and resouces of clusters as well as participation of companies within the cluster work.
After the first session`s presentations guided tour took place representing history of Rovaniemi and Korundi House of Culture.
The second session was focused on Lapland`s good practice working group to coordinate different funds. The idea of working gropup is to offer platform for officials from Regional Council of Lapland and ELY center to discuss about project proposals funded by different instruments, identify synergies and coordinate actions with ongoing projects.
After the second session, partners headed to Lapland University of applied sciences, where Frostbit learning environment was presented. 3D reality was applied in different purposes, such as education of woodindustry, mining and health care.
The day was fruitful in many ways. Active discussion played important role and experiences from different perspectives were shared during the sessions of the day. The visit in Arctic Circle and meeting of Santa Claus were great experiences for visiting partners.
