BLUE CROWDFUNDING is an Interreg MED project aiming at spreading information and knowledge about crowdfunding as such and as applied in the blue economy, in order to make it more accessible to the stakeholders involved.

On March 4th 2021, the Region of Central Macedonia – one of the 13 BLUE CROWDFUNDING project partners – organised an online quadruple helix workshop, seeking to highlight through a multi-dimensional prism, the concepts of crowdfunding and of the blue economy (but also the combination of these two). It was addressed to representatives from public organisations, local and regional authorities, development agencies, professional chambers and civil society organisations, which are located and/or activated within the region of Central Macedonia.

The Greek partner of Innova-FI project – Business and Cultural and Development Centre (KEPA) – introduced the participants to the financial instrument of business crowdfunding by also sharing the results and the lessons learnt from the Innova-FI project. The presentation followed the journey from the initial concept of developing Innova-FI project in order to address identified common challenges related to funding business innovation, to the main activities and outcomes by the learning exchange experience, placing a special emphasis on crowdfunding.
