The definition of a road map to advance towards the energy transition of Vitoria-Gasteiz is a study has been funded by the Environmental Studies Centre
The Plan to Combat Climate Change 2010-2020 is the main instrument that Vitoria-Gasteiz has endowed itself with, in order to face, from co-responsibility, the different challenges that underlie the commitments of the City under the climate protection policy.
In this sense, almost reached the planning development horizon and aware of the importance that the energy system acquires in climate protection policies, makes necessary to start a process of reflection at all levels in order to set a strategic vision, as much shared as possible, as a starting point for a larger project that aspires to radically transform the energy model of the municipality of Vitoria-Gasteiz.
With this premise, the Fundación Renovables has addressed throughout the past year a diagnosis of the current situation for the Environmental Studies Centre, evaluating the degree of compliance with current regulations and advancing what should be, in their opinion, the lines of future action that Vitoria-Gasteiz should take to become a city free of emissions.
The final report resulting from this work includes the main conclusions of the process developed over the last few months. It sets out the regulatory framework, the diagnosis of current situation and the main lines of action, as well as a first set of possible proposals to adopt to carry out a Strategy for the Energy Transition in Vitoria-Gasteiz.
