Intensify partner Cork City Council is engaging with communities in Cork to help thyem reduce their carbon footprint and reduce their energy bills.
The Council has engaged with its social housing tenants whose properties use electric storage heaters. As a partner in the Interreg North West Europe RED-WOLF project Cork City will upgrade the electric storage heating system in ten of it properties. By installing batteries and solar PV panels the project aims to reduce energy bills and reduce the carbon footprint of the residents. The community engagement is being carried out as part of the Councils commitments to increase awareness of the need to reduce greenhouse gases under the Interreg Europe INTENSIFY project.
