Anyone with an interest in a sustainable future for Limerick is being invited to take part in a week of community events focusing on sustainability and renewable energy for Limerick.
‘City Engage – Local Renewable Energy’ comprises of five days of events as part of the +CityxChange (Positive City Exchange) Project. The overall aim of the project is to create positive energy districts and influence citizen behavior, to meet the challenge of moving to a low carbon sustainable future.
There are a wide range of events scheduled for the week from Monday 14th – Friday 18th September. Such events include a webinar entitled “The Limerick We Want to Live in”, in which citizens will be given the opportunity to share their hopes for Limerick City over the next 30 years and how to meet the challenges posed by climate change. Another online event entitled “River Energy Potential for Limerick City” will educate citizens about HydroKinetic turbines and how they could be used to generate clean energy from the river Shannon in the heart of Limerick City.
