A new good practice titled Creating Sustainable Energy Communities (SEC) has been published in the Interreg Europe Policy Learning Platform good practice database.

The SEC programme, delivered by the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI), aims to engage communities to change the way they think about energy and enable communities to develop energy management skills and knowledge.

The SEC programme is designed to engage with a community group to improve local energy efficiency, promote the use of renewable energy, and ultimately empower communities to develop local energy production. The SEAI provides specialised technical assistance as well as financial planning grant for the development of energy communities.

Policymakers around Europe can now consult this good practice online and participate through Policy Learning Platform for further exchange of experiences.
