MiniStor (Minimal Size Thermal and Electrical Energy Storage System for In-Situ Residential Installation) is an EU-funded project that aims to create a sustainable solution to gathering the energy efficiency potential of the European building stock.

The project is currently developing ‘a novel compact integrated thermal storage system’ to deliver sustainable heating, cooling and electricity storage in residential households.

The project has eighteen partners across the European Union, Switzerland and the UK, including Cork City, to provide a new and innovative solution to move homes and buildings towards carbon neutrality. In Cork City, there is a stock of 10,000 social houses that are mostly in need of energy efficient solutions in order to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions. With the MiniStor project, Cork City is delighted to take part in developing and piloting new technologies to sustain a low-carbon future in the existing building stock.

MiniStor aims to create more environmentally-friendly home heating and save homeowners thousands of Euros a year in the process!
