On the 11th of December 2020, at 19.30, NECCA in cooperation with the University of West Attica organized an on-line information day for the INVALIS project. The project, its progress, outcomes and the lessons learnt up to now through the exchange of experience at European and national level were presented to post-graduate students of the Masters Course "Applied Environmental Management Policies and Techniques". The event was attended by 56 participants and lasted for 2.5 hours. During the event, the participants were informed about the problem of invasive alien species and there was a fruitful discussion on possible management policies for addressing the impacts of invasive alien species on ecosystems and human activities, the role that the scientific community can play in raising public awareness, the emerging conflicts of interest and the necessary legal framework for IAS management. The contribution of the INVALIS project in areas such as establishing a network of stakeholders for IAS management was highlighted. The participants of the information day were encouraged in taking part in project activities.
