The past January, the Ministry for Regional Development and Transport of Saxony-Anhalt (Germany) had its first kick-off regional stakeholder meeting. There were 13 participants from different fields, such as representatives from foundations, museums, touristic and heritage associations of the region. Also, investment and marketing corporation Saxony-Anhalt, Ministry of Economic Affairs, Science and Digitalization Saxony-Anhalt, Ministry for Environment, Agriculture and Energy of Saxony-Anhalt, State Chancellery and Ministry of Culture Saxony-Anhalt were invited as well.
The main agenda
The agenda started with a welcome and introduction of the group, following the presentation of MOMAr project. On that occasion, the representatives of the host institution prepared various activities to end with a group discussion and further procedure.
The discussion
There were different topics selected for the discussion. First, the improvement of management structures and marketing processes for natural and cultural heritage in rural areas. Then it was analysed the cooperative relationships between regional/local actors and increasing the visibility of less noted regions as tourist destinations, the balancing touristic exploitation and preserving regional natural heritage, and in the end, the broad stakeholder variety and complex funding framework in Saxony-Anhalt.
To conclude, Saxony-Anhalt stakeholders wanted to discuss topics for the European exchange of experiences, they were: Digitalization, as data collection and licensing; mobility, for example tourist routes and biking along; public transport and barrier-free accessibility, the conditions imposed by the protection of historic buildings and monuments. And lastly, it was discussed the “Grünes Band”, the green belt: cooperation with the Czech Republic along with the border – nature experience combined with a culture of remembrance.
