The PERFECT project has published a new factsheet showing the need for action on climate change, and the role of green infrastructure in mitigating its effects and adapting to its consequences.
Green infrastructure is a vital tool for policymakers to use to help combat climate change. Not only can it help with boosting the resilience of areas to flooding and extreme heat, but it can also make a major difference in the health and well-being of people as other PERFECT factsheets have shown. It can also help to reduce carbon emissions through storage and its use for renewable energy.
This factsheet brings together evidence across Europe - including from the PERFECT partners - to try to convince policy makers that the investment in green infrastructure is easily repaid from the benefits that it brings. The factsheet will be used by partners as they prepare their Action Plans and work with their stakeholders to influence their policy instruments.
