The stakeholders were informed on the project findings of an extensive research conducted from all partners about actions to promote separation, sorting and recycling of plastics waste as well as measures to curb aquatic litter. Moreover, the results of the Interregional workshop about microplastics leakage to the environment’ were shared.


 

Once again the public and private stakeholders were together and exchanged fruitful opinions, concluding the need to raise public awareness to achieve the transition to a more circular economy.

The attendees to the meeting were from: the Municipality of Rethymno, the Region of Crete, academic institutions, other public authorities as well as companies and business associations.

The third stakeholder meeting for Rethymno has been scheduled for June.
