On 13th September 2021 a national strategy to speed up the recycling of plastics has been issued in France. The strategy will provide an additional financial aid (370 M €) to complete the funds already provided by the "Next generation EU" fund (200 M €) for circular economy. It aims at improving the use of plastics at different levels of the value chain :
- Products conception to facilitate the recycling of plastics ;
- Collect and sorting ;
- Preparation of the raw material/recycled plastics ;
- Reuse of the raw material (and its integration in the global production process).
The global objective is also to involve all the stakeholders of the value chain, including industrial stakeholders. More information available here (in French).
