The Lead Partner of the PLASTECO project, the Municipality of Rethymno, has responded to the call of the Interreg Europe Project CAPonLITTER, to participate in the second International Learning Event (ILE) that was organized by UBBSLA (Union of Bulgarian Black Sea Local Authorities).
Representatives of the Municipality of Rethymno delivered a presentation on “waste collection towards the circular economy-challenges concerning plastics” and participated in the online panel discussion with the theme 'Beach waste management, in particular, waste disposal and collection aspects'.
The event was attended by stakeholders from all the countries involved in the project partnership. The online conference brought together European experts from various disciplines and regions to discuss the future of waste recycling, further to the panel discussion, stakeholders and attendees also had the opportunity to gain comprehensions of the PLASTECO’s scope.
Following the presentation made by the representatives of the Rethymno Municipality, the Interreg Europe project WINPOL partners expressed their interest in carrying out synergies with the PLASTECO project.
