A first stakeholder meeting took place online on 19 June 2020. It brought together the various representatives of the plastics sector in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region (Competitiveness Cluster for the Plastics Industry, Industrial Technical Centre for Plastics and the Professional Union of the Plastics Sector) as well as the project financial partners, the ADEME (French environmental and energy management agency) and the Regional Council.

This meeting was an opportunity to present to the stakeholders the progress of the PLASTECO project, to exchange views and experiences and to participate in the elaboration of the regional action plan. Discussions were held with them on several identified topics: working on the integration of recycled plastic in public procurement by creating more links between the offer of regional companies and the needs of buyers, mobilising existing regional public aid for innovation and working on the certification of recycled plastic contents. The organisation of the interregional workshop on “how to support regional businesses to invest in eco-innovation in plastic production and reuse”, planned at the end of the year, was also the subject of an exchange in order to start building the programme in relation to the needs of regional companies.

Those present agreed to continue to collaborate with AURA-EE to define relevant actions to be implemented in the Region.
