About this good practice
The regional Ministry of Economy and Financing has promoted the creation of the “Castilla y León Entrepreneurship and Innovation Network” with the main objective of developing an integrated and open innovation concept, which combines research, creativity, entrepreneurship and new business models, promoting the Innovative Business Groups (Clusters) with the aim to act as a platform for development and innovation of the sectoral strategic axes, by working in a Network of the agents of the quadruple helix of innovation.
The Network includes more than 100 entities (universities, Clusters and public administration also innovation agents and knowledge-generating tractor companies) so that a framework for effective collaboration between all of them is established. The network is structured in 5 working groups, one of them it is Circular BioEconomy Regional Working Group (GTBEC). Agro-food sectors are economic sectors directly related to Circular Bioeconomy. The group was constituted in June 2017 under the framework of the STRING project, inspired by partners good practices. It focuses on 4 action areas: 1. Promotion of Technological Research and Development (R + D + i) public and private in Bioeconomy.2. Awareness and Promotion of the Bioeconomy. 3. Development of the regional offer of Bioeconomy products and services and related economic activities and 4. Promotion of the Demand and development of Markets related to the Bioeconomy.

Resources needed
Specialized information to companies & clusters´ agents; networking activities; pooling of support infrastructures; specialist advice from ICE to conduct joint innovation projects & internationalization; identification & co-financing of cooperative actions. REDEI is financed by own resources.
Evidence of success
As a consequence of the Castilla y León Entrepreneurship and Innovation Network, the regional innovation system behavior have experimented a significant improvement regarding R&D and innovation programmes. The number of entities participating in these initiatives has increased, as well as the number of successful experiences. Nowadays REDEI has more than 100 members. The GTBEC is integrated by 20 entities.
Potential for learning or transfer
The Network and its working groups could serve as a source of inspiration for public authorities to be replicated in other context or regions because of the essence of the network itself, with the participation of the members of the regional ecosystem and the regional innovation agents.
