The Andalusian Energy Agency has participated on June 14 in an online meeting on energy communities, within the cycle of talks-colloquium "Renewables in the Granada Geopark: opportunities and threats", organized by the Local Development Groups of the Altiplano of Granada and the Guadix Region, together with the Association for Sustainable Tourism of the Grenadine Highlands and the Platform ParticipAcción Altiplanos Granadinos.

Ángel Sáez Ramírez, a technician at the Agency, addressed the role of public administrations in promoting energy communities, as well as the existing regulatory framework. In addition, he will present the main actions that the Andalusian Energy Agency is developing in the field of energy communities, in particular, within the European POWERTY project for renewable energy and energy poverty.

Two energy communities that are developing in Andalusia, and which have been recognized with different awards at the national level, participated in the day: Energy Communities of Almócita (Almería) and Río Monachil (Granada).

The meeting ended with a discussion / debate in which all attendees could speak.
