The I European Congress of Energy Communities, which took place on November 16 and 17 in Navarra (Spain), aims to serve as a forum for information and debate on this growing movement for the energy transition at local and regional level. The congress, in which experts from the public and private sectors took part, showcased pioneering initiatives developed in different European countries, as well as at the state and regional level, and focused on critical social, legislative, economic and technological conditions to push the model massively.
Ángel Sáez Ramírez, technician of the Department of Internationalization, Innovation and Singular Projects of the Andalusian Energy Agency, addressed the potential of the energy communities in Andalusia and presented the main lines of work of the European POWERTY project, which is being worked on to take advantage of energy communities as a tool to address energy poverty through renewable energy.
In addition, the Andalusian Energy Agency (AEA), on behalf of EnerAgen (Association of Spanish Energy Management Agencies), also participated coordinating and dynamizing the workshop entitled “Promotion, design and management of Energy Communities. Role of regional and local entities and energy agencies".
