The SG meeting took place during the discussion festival LAM PA in Cesis, 30th of June, 2017.
Participants were introduced with smart specialization areas in Vidzeme Planning region. Experts, who participated in discussion were from scientific institutions and universities, also public sector was represented.
Main conclusions of discussion and recommendations: Smart specialization can help regions to develop in more smarter way, unfortunately sometimes RIS3 is used only to attract EU funds, but also on daily basis we can develop these areas more actively. Experience exchange, different methods are the key to develop these areas. It is important to organize discussions and meetings more often, because it is important to know cooperation partners, jointly generate new ideas and solutions. It is important to bring stakeholders together and discuss development issues.
