On 16 & 17 November 2017, REFORM partner Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) hosts the 2017 Local Transport Summit, REFORM is proud to support the organisation of this major event for urban mobility in Manchester.
"This year’s event is set in the context of Greater Manchester's current work on its 25-year transport strategy. The region's experience will be explored, including how visions of place, accessibility, economic development and quality of life can be embraced in creating a successful future transport system."
Speakers include Nicola Kane, Head of Strategic Planning and Research at Transport for Greater Manchester and other representatives of TfGM.
Nicola Kane says: she's often asked by people about the future of mobility in the region: ‘Ongoing devolution of powers and funding means we are entering a new era of more integrated strategic planning. When people find out I've been working on a transport strategy for the year 2040, they ask, ‘But, how do we know what the world will be like in 25 years?. Increasingly, my response to this difficult question is “Well, how would we like it to be?”
