On March 10th, Marino Cavallo (Metropolitan City of Bologna) took part at the Cives laboratory for the common good. The session was focused on "A different idea of smart city".

An alternative smart city model is one in which it is possible to use technologies in a creative way, enhancing the possibilities of citizen participation, in a 4-helix perspective. "In the city we want, creativity must be at the center, as an expression of human intentionality " said Marino Cavallo.

In this perspective, local implementation of smart specialization strategies could bring a lot of opportunities: innovative approach, boost growth and jobs, by enabling each city to identify and develop its own competitive advantages, making the community and young talents leading actors.
