On 16 November 2020, the European Economic and Social Committee is organising an online hearing in the framework of its exploratory opinion requested by the European Parliament on an Industrial transition towards a green and digital European economy: regulatory requirements and the role of social partners and civil society.
REPLACE partner Veltha will participate at the hearing, with the intervention of Mr Carlo Polidori
The purpose of this hearing will be to contribute to the EESC opinion and to the debate on the policy priorities to promote the transition of European industry towards a green and digital European economy against the background of the COVID-19 crisis. Related issues, such as a just transition, the Green Deal and employment and social inclusion policies are crucial in this context.
The debate will focus on the following questions:
• What are the prospects and challenges for European industry in its transition to become green and digital?
• How can we make sure that the transition is fair and just?
• How can past transitions help us to understand the present and shape the future?
