Rail is the most reliable, sustainable and low-emission means of transport, it also has a great potential for innovation for SMEs, R&D units and start-ups. The scale and scope of the railway sector present good opportunities for strengthening the pro-market and pro-environmental advantages, especially through the development of transport accessibility in Lodzkie and central Poland.
The stakeholder seminar, organized by the Lodzkie Region in cooperation with the Lodz Agglomeration Railway and the above-listed projects, has the goal of discussing and unravelling the potential of the railway in the region, in connection with energy transition, reduction of harmful emissions, applications for the LCA methodology and possible developments in the field of circular economy.
After the meeting, a study visit will take place: a ride and sightseeing tour of the innovative Technical Base of the Łódź Agglomeration Railway (ŁKA) in Widzew (after the seminar, departure from Łódź Fabryczna at approx. 12.30 p.m., return at approx. 3 p.m.).
