11 May 2017, a stakeholder meeting for the South Netherlands region was organised by Brainport Development in close cooperation with the Province of North-Brabant. The attendee list saw a great variety of actors from different backgrounds: cluster managers, policy makers on both the provincial and municipal level, representatives from different economic development agencies and educational institutions, as well as research institutes.
The main focus of the meeting was not only the active involvement and engagement of the stakeholders in the S34Growth project, but also in the Vanguard Initiative with which there are close ties.
The overall feedback from the stakeholders and key messages from the meeting were “it’s the way to go” (regarding the Vanguard Initiative aim and work) and “the window of opportunity to establish the future frameworks for interregional collaboration is now” (regarding the role of S34Growth).
