As part of the SIE project's Phase 2, Kent County Council has recently awarded €10K vouchers to 3 local businesses to enable them to work with an Export Manager.
Research carried out by the SIE project highlighted that small companies face a lack of resources to dedicate to internationalisation. Inspired by a national scheme in Spain that the SIE partners heard about during a study visit to Cantabria organised by the Chamber of Commerce, Kent County Council worked on a business case to test this approach under a Pilot Actions within the SIE project.
The 3 companies to benefit from an Export Manager voucher are:
- Evogro which produces specialist cabinets for restaurant kitchens
- Karimix which produces an exciting range of exotically-flavoured sauces and marinades
- Abbaltis which provides 'disease-stata plasma' and residual medical samples
Kent County Council and its group of local stakeholders are working with the beneficiary companies to maximise the value of the vouchers which should lead to some export wins for these businesses in the future.
