The third information meeting of a European project related to the promotion of entrepreneurship of small and medium-sized enterprises in the circular economy was held from 11 am on 21 December in the Plenary Hall of Devnya Municipal Council. The project
"Enchancing the Entrepreneurship of SMEs in Circular Economy of the Agri-Food Chain» is funded under the European Commission's Interreg Europe 2014-2020 programme. It is implemented under a contract with reference No PGI05967 between the Managing Authority - Hauts – de – France and the Leading Partner ANATOLIKI S.A. Development Agency of Eastern Thessaloniki's Local Authorities – Greece.
At the event the management team from Devnya municipality presented the summarized results from the last project consultation with stakeholders, conducted through online questionnaires. The meeting continued with a presentation of the good practices shared during the Third Interregional Online Meeting of the project partners, which took place on 5 - 6 October 2020 and was organized by the South Muntenia Regional Development Agency. The good practices identified in the Southern Muntenia region regarding the circular economy in the food industry, the initiatives and strategies at the regional and national levels were also presented. The presentations of the National Research Institute for Research & Development in Chemistry and Petrochemistry - ICECHIM Bucharest, the National Institute of Research – Development for Machines and Installations Designed for Agriculture and Food Industry – INMA Bucharest, the National Institute for Research and Development in Electrical Engineering ICPE-CA, Ateliere Fara Frontiere (AFF) and others partners were also shared with the stakeholders.
The participants in the meeting in Devnya on December 21st were briefly acquainted with the virtual tour in three small and medium enterprises organized by the Regional Development Fund of Central Macedonia. The organizations’ works in the food industry, using the innovative principles of the circular economy were presented. The third information meeting in Devnya ended with a discussion panel on the application of the circular economy in the municipality and in the Varna region. Possible measures for the development of the circular economy at the local level were discussed.
