During the Stakeholders meeting, which took place on 27th of November 2019, Michael Tunney, Head of Enterprise and SinCE-AFC Project Manager, Local Enterprise Office Donegal, gave an overview of and an introduction to the SinCE-AFC INTERREG project.   He advised the Committee that the project will focus on good practice, shared learning and an action plan on the circular economy in the food chain. Michael explained the concept of the circular economy to members of the Committee and its potential relevance to food businesses at all stages in the food chain. He advised that as well as hosting a project meeting and good practice/study visits in Donegal, within the project, that there will be opportunities for local stakeholders to participate in similar study visits to partner regions.
Following discussion, it was agreed that the Food Coast Steering Committee would act as the local stakeholder group for the project.
