Last week Urban M held its first knowledge sharing event during Cities and Regions week in Brussels.
The Making Spaces event was the project’s first chance to share its aims and ambitions to a wider audience and to test our initial findings.
Dr Bastian Lange our external expert presented his work on mapping the Urban Manufacturing landscape across Europe and Lisbon City Council described their city’s Fab Lab and the activities which take place in it. There were also posters of the Viterbo Fab Lab from the Lazio region and the STEAMhouse project from Birmingham.
The discussion which followed with participants was extremely lively and the contributions from the numerous representatives of the maker community in Brussels were extremely useful in sharing knowledge between cities & regions. We are looking forward to the long term effects this project will have on creative communities.
