On 26 April the Final InnoHEIs Conference took place in The Scientific Information Center and Academic Library (CINiBA), University of Silesia in Katowice, Poland. CINIBA is located in the heart of Katowice downtown and in centre of the University of Silesia campus.

The main objective of the event was to present the results achieved by InnoHEIs partners during the project implementation. In addition, the aim of the conference was to share with stakeholders, experts and practitioners experiences the insights on enlarging the role of higher education institutions (HEIs) and their research and innovation infrastructure.

The first, official part of the event consisted of opening and welcoming speeches: by Rima Dijkstra, InnoHEIs project leader and Dariusz Laska, Vice-Chancellor for Development and Industry Cooperation at the University of Silesia.

After a warm welcome, Aleksandra Niechajowicz Dell’Ambrogio, Representative of Interreg Europe Joint Secretariat introduced the subject of Interreg Europe state of play and future opportunities.

This was followed by a presentation of InnoHEIs project results (by Rima Dijkstra, project leader), and the story of University’s Infrastructure and research as a drive for regional development and regional policies presented by Marcin Libera, head of Research, Educational and Artistic Infrastructure Office, University of Silesia in Katowice.

An extremely important and interesting part of the event was the presentation of projects results from the partners’ perspective:

- Northern Netherlands Provinces Alliance, Netherlands,

- Catalonia, Spain,

- Centre-Val de Loire, France,

- Tampere Region, Finland,

- Mid Sweden region, Sweden,

- Lithuania,

- Silesian Voivodship, Poland,

The Conference ended with closing remarks provided by Rima Dijkstra, InnoHEIs project leader.

In afternoon the project Steering Committee meeting took a place. The partners have discussed the activities and results of Phase 2, smooth finalisation of the project and final reporting.

All partners have been present in the final InnoHEIs event. We are grateful to our Polish partner University of Silesia for organizing the event! Also, a big thanks to all project partners for their active participation, intensive collaboration sharing and learning from each other! Thanks to our stakeholders for the regular cooperation and guests at the conference day, it made the InnoHEIs journey efficient, effective and fruitful!
