The EU has signed an agreement with the Goethe-Institut to launch "Culture Moves Europe", a new €21 million mobility initiative for artists and cultural professionals.
The new Culture Moves Europe initiative will be a permanent action within the Creative Europe program, following the successful I-Portunus trial project (2018-2022). The system is based on the recommendations made during the pilot phase. It will make funding available to artists, cultural operators, and host groups from all sectors covered by the CULTURE strand, as well as from countries participating in the Creative Europe initiative.
Emerging artists will be given special consideration.
Around 7,000 artists, creators, and cultural workers will be able to use this program to go abroad for professional development or international collaborations, as well as co-produce, co-create, and show their works to new audiences.
The first calls are scheduled for the autumn of 2022.
