Held in Bari from 3 to 11 October, the 84th edition of the International General Exhibition “Fiera del Levante” celebrated the European Cooperation Day and 30 years of European Territorial Cooperation (Interreg). It was the place of choice to share successful stories of cooperation in the Mediterranean area.
On Friday 9 October (h. 9.30am - 1:30pm) the International Policy Coordination Department of the Puglia region organized a conference on “Cooperation for Tourism and Culture in the Mediterranean area: state of the art and future perspectives”, in collaboration with ENI CBC MED, Interreg V-A Greece-Italy and Interreg IPA CBC Italy-Albania-Montenegro Programmes.
The event was created to share the good practices developed through local development initiatives in the cultural and touristic sector, thanks to the synergic integration of strategic plans, Regional Operational Programmes and European Territorial Cooperation.
Focusing on “The integration of Funds for local development in the cinema sector”, Mrs Simonetta Dellomonaco, President of Apulia Film Commission Foundation, highlighted the importance of EU funds for the local audiovisual sector. ALICE project and its activities were presented as an example of successful European cooperation and a major development support opportunity for the region’s digital animation sector.
Mrs Dellomonaco stressed the importance of the ALICE project’s contribution to several digital animation initiatives promoted by the Apulia Film Commission and the Puglia Region. She mentioned the recently launched audiovisual funds (Apulia Film Fund 2020 and Apulia Short & Digital Production dedicated to Short Movie, Gaming and Animation), as well as the new Apulia Film House located in Bari which shall become a hub for the Apulian audio-visual companies specialized in the digital sector (including gaming, animation, cross-media, virtual effects, post production) and shall foster the creation of a new digital production system in Puglia.
