On 31 July 2020, the Apulia Film House was inaugurated. The idea came out of the desire of Apulia Film Commission Foundation and Puglia (Apulia) Region to create a regional House of Cinema and Audiovisual Sector with strong international connections. The Apulia Film House venue is located in Pavilion 81 of “Fiera del Levante”exhibition centre, Bari, which has been the home for Cineporto since 2010.
The new space aims to become a major community centre for film and new media companies, professionals and international stakeholders. It will offer both a new, alternative and innovative platform for production, and a cinema for a diverse audience of families, young people and cinema lovers.
The Apulia Film House will be a hub for the Apulian audiovisual companies specialized in the digital sector in Apulia (gaming, animation, cross-media, virtual effects, post production). Together with the recently launched fund, Apulia Short & Digital Production dedicated to Short Movie, Gaming and Animation, the Apulia Film House will foster the creation of a new digital production system in Apulia.
