The 2nd Portuguese Regional Stakeholders Workshop took place on 16 October 2020 and, due to the COVID-19 crisis, it was an online event.

Intitled "Zero Waste Coastal Activities: On the Search of Good Practices!", this event was organized by PP2 - Environment Portuguese Agency (APA) and by LP1 - NOVA School of Science and Technology, NOVA University Lisbon (FCT-NOVA).

The workshop started with the Welcome Session, where José Carlos Ferreira, Project Coordinator from LP1 - FCT-NOVA welcomed the participants and spoke about the importance of the stakeholders' participation.

«The CAPonLITTER project is for the Stakeholders but also from the Stakeholders. A bottom-up approach is fundamental to ensure the achievement of the project objectives and the improvement of the policy instruments», Mr. Ferreira stated.

Margarida Nunes, from PP2 - APA also welcomed the participants and supported this message, reinforcing the need to increase public involvement in the construction and improvement of the policies.

Then the Project Manager, Cláudio Macedo Duarte, and the Project Co-coordinator, Lia Vasconcelos, both from LP1 - FCT-NOVA, updated the current status of the CAPonLITTER project and the work plan for the event, explaining the participation methodologies are were going to be used.

Then the stakeholders were divided into smaller groups where they could meet each other and discuss Good Practices to tackle specific topics of the Marine Waste problem, namely on coastal and touristic activities.

From this workshop, 6 Good Practices were constructed and obtained and were presented to all the participants.

Even in an online format, this workshop was very successful and the work with the Portuguese Stakeholders was strengthened.
