The 7th Interregional Meeting of CAPonLITTER project entitled “Joint Development of Regional Action Plans: Key lessons learned & Discussion about draft versions of Action Plans” was implemented successfully in Crete hosted by the Region of Crete. The meeting took place on 12th and 13th of April 2022 within the framework of CAPonLITTER project.
During the first day of the ILE, George Alexakis, Regional Councillor of Crete, European and International Affairs Officer, welcomed the project partners highlighting the key role that circular economy can play in decision-making, encouraging new forms of production, technology, consumption and waste management.
Following, the project partners had the chance to present their Action Plans drafted in the framework of the project and discuss about them through exchanging of their knowledge.
The second day of the ILE included study visits to implemented good practices in Crete. Project partners got familiar in the “Certification Standard for Sustainable Management and Development of the Mediterranean Beaches – Costa Nostrum” through their visit to certified beaches. In addition, project partners had the chance to see the “Smart Green Bins for Beaches” construction, a good practice by AELIA - Sustainable Engineering.
