The Second Interregional Workshop of CLUSTERS3 project took place in Turin on 19-20 October. The meeting was organised by Piedmont Region.
The meeting in Turin was focused on issues surrounding the implementation of cluster policy. The Interregional Learning Workshop was dedicated to the following topic “Policy implementation through specific support instruments and programmes”. The project partners had the opportunity to present the specific types of instruments and programmes that have been/or anticipated to be developed in each of the partner regions.
The Interregional Learning Workshop included also a lively discussion on the rigidity or flexibility of the programmes and instruments employed and their capacity to respond to changing needs or addressing the subjects as: flexibility of financial instruments, different programmes supporting cross-cluster collaboration, obstacles and challenges face clusters.
The project partners could also hear from Anastasiia Konstantynova from TCI member Orkestra-Basque Institute of Competitiveness about the results of the Survey Cluster & RIS3 Policy SWOT Analysis.
It is also worth mentioning that partner regions will be peer-reviewed in order to improve their cluster policies. The peer reviews are planned in 2017 in every partner region. The TCI Network is in charge of peer review methodology.
The last day of the meeting was dedicated to Open Conference. During the conference, the project partners could learn about the experiences of cluster management organisations form Piedmont Region.
The study visit to BioPMed, the Italian innovation cluster dedicated to health care related product and services created, closed the Second Interregional Workshop.
The Third Interregional Learning Workshop and Open Conference of the CLUSTERS3 project will take place in Lubelskie region (Poland) on 7-8 March 2017.
