In a video presentation ‘Fundacion Rezero’ explained some actions taken to reduce the volume of waste. Rezero is an independent NGO erected in 2005 that aims to change the model of consumption towards zero waste.

As reduction of waste is the basis in the waste hierarchy, Rezero focuses on different actions to prevent waste. If waste cannot be prevented then reuse and recycling are considered in the waste hierarchy, before coming to incineration of waste with energy recuperation or landfilling. Unfortunately in Spain most waste ends in the landfill. The presentation ends with a challenge that 5 families took to reduce waste in only one month.
