This presentation was held at the thematic event focused on financial aspects of landfill management projects in Larnaca (Cyprus) on September 25, 2018.
Natalia Georgiou (Department of Environment, Ministry of Agriculture, Rural development and Environment, Cyprus) presented the actions on Green Public Procurement (GPP) in Cyprus. At this moment the second action plan for promotion of green public procurement is in place since 2012, it includes strategic targets and actions that aim to change the consumer model by adopting policies for sustainable production and consumption. It is applicable by State Authorities, Public Law Organizations and Local Authorities. CY GPP AWARDS have been institutionalised since 2014. In the last four years, a total of 73 GPP Awards were handed out to Authorities/Organisations and Enterprices, for their procurements and purchases in different categories of products and services and also for their environmental policy.
