The implementation of the Action Plan prepared by Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Energie Environnement (AURA-EE), the French partner, as part of the CONDEREFF project is coming to an end after almost 2 years and a half. This action plan consists of two main actions in which the following regional players have been engaged: Ville & Aménagement Durable (VAD), Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Regional Council and Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Regional Green Public Procurement Network (RREDD).
The action plan is composed of two actions, both of which have been 100% completed:
Action 1
- Creation of a toolkit for public authorities to draft contracts integrating the recovery of waste and the reuse of material.
This toolkit was sent to 500 regional stakeholders involved in the RREDD network and is available for download in French on AURA-EE’s website. As general feedback on action 1, it appears that public authorities proved very eager to work on construction and demolition waste management but did not know how to tackle the problem. Providing several webinars, along with the tool and helpdesk seems the right course of action to help them develop local strategies.
Action 2
- Awareness-raising and support for Green Public Procurement (GPP) application in construction and demolition (C&D) projects.
AURA-EE was acknowledged to become the regional helpdesk for C&D GPP management, as coordinator of the RREDD network. Therefore, the Regional Council financed AURA-EE as of 2023 to carry the work. As coordinator of the RREDD, AURA-EE organized in February 2023 an online training gathering more than 150 participants. On top of these actions, a total of 3 workshops were organized by the regional Association VAD. The first one (in October 2022) focused on the new mandatory "diagnosis Products Equipment Materials and Waste". It was a success with more than 50 participants. The second and third workshops spoke about "new EPR scheme for B&D waste" (December 2022) and the “roadmap report, priority actions and news for the regional working group" (February 2023).
