On June 27, 2022, the new premises of Paksi Közlekedési Kft. (Paks Transport Ltd.) hosted the eBussed project information event, which was attended by nearly 30 professionals and those interested in the topic. The event took place in cooperation with the E-MOB Interreg Europe project dealing with sustainable electric urban mobility.
At the informational event, the South Transdanubia Regional Innovation Agency presented in detail the good practices of electric municipal bus transport in Pécs and Paks, and then the related solutions proposed to be transferred from Finland, Germany and the Netherlands. Based on these, the Agency presented two proposals for influencing the Integrated Transport Development Operative Program Plus, which are 1.) reducing the environmental effects of urban and suburban bus transport (establishing an e-bus knowledge center), and 2.) developing model solutions for the construction of the electric charging network.
The main developments of the E-MOB project in Paks are related to electric bus transport. In its presentation, the Paksi Közlekedési Kft. reviewed the year 2021, from the beginning of which electric buses provided scheduled public transportation for 11 months. With real, measured data, participants were able to learn about toll revenues, vehicle consumption, repair and maintenance, typical breakdowns, and development plans (for example, the real-time passenger information system).
After the presentations, the participants visited the Paksi Közlekedés Kft. vehicle facility, where the company’s public transport experts presented the buses, the charging infrastructure, and additional services provided by the facility, such as the bus wash.
