IMPROVE – project supported by the Northern Periphery and Arctic Programme - aims at increasing innovation capacity and knowledge awareness of six remote regions in the Northern Periphery and Artic in the field of developing technology-driven public services. Who wants to guarantee quality public services in remote areas faces various challenges such as the long distances that have to be covered, the shortage of skilled staff or high cost per head of developing and maintaining service. IMPROVES approach involves a co-production model through open innovation and living labs, in which the communities are involved to develop tools and methodologies that can then be used by other regions.
