“Service Innovation in a Digital Europe: Co-creating social, economic and environmental value for all our regions” - ERUDITE project kicked off in Seinäjoki (South Ostrobothnia Region) Finland, on September 6th 2016

ERUDITE (Enhancing Rural and Urban Digital Innovation Territories) project fosters digital solutions through interregional cooperation all over Europe, by testing Open Innovation and monitoring tools, and sharing good practices to create tomorrow’s digital services.
South Ostrobothnian businesses, elected representatives, IT experts and the general public participated in the ERUDITE Official Launch, while international speakers shared their visions for digital service innovation. In Finland, the partners and their stakeholders saaw examples of eServices for citizens, Internet of Things laboratory, smart solutions in early childhood education, eHealth applications, and international business opportunities through fibre networks.
To fully exploit the economic and social potential of the High Speed Broadband networks new services need to be designed that will meet public, private and community needs and add real value to our economies and societies. As a key element of our work The ERUDITE partners will conduct Socio-Economic Return on Investment analyses measuring the full impact of selected digital solutions, making sure they bring the maximum benefit to all users and investors.
The Region Mayor of South Ostrobothnia, Mr Asko Peltola, stated “I believe this project will enhance collaboration across Europe the take-off of digitalisation. We have to convince our elected representatives of the need to find innovative digital systems to develop our regions whilst making sure that companies and individuals across Europe have the skills and enthusiasm to utilise novel solutions created by digital technology.”
The project, co-funded by the INTERREG EUROPE programme, brings together experts from 7 countries: Finland, Sweden, Hungary, Italy, France, Ireland, and Slovenia. Project coordinator is Digital Nièvre Joint Authority from France. The project total budget is €2M for 4 years.
