The fifth study visit and thematic seminar of the EURE project took partners to Pilsen, Czech Republic. Due to the situation that prevailed all over the world in connection with the spread of COVID-19, it was not possible to host the project partners physically in Pilsen. Thus this event has been moved to an online environment with project partners accessing a live stream from the Pilsen studio. Pilsen‘s meeting was conducted half online, half in person.

Participants from several countries were greeted by Michal Vozobule, Deputy Mayor of the city of Pilsen for Transport and Environment, and Erich Beneš, Director of the European Projects Coordination Unit. Two Czech managing authorities also accepted the invitation to join the meeting, the Ministry for Regional Development of Czechia and Ministry of the Environment of Czechia.

The main topic of the meeting was water. In an expert panel, hydrobiologist Jindřich Duras spoke about it and architect Jaroslav Holler (Urban Planning and Development Institute of the City of Pilsen) presented a document key for water management in the city of Pilsen, namely the Concept of Runoff Conditions.

Case studies in the form of videos were presented to project partners introducing projects implemented in the city of Pilsen related to water issues. These include the revitalisation of Lobzy Park, the retention tank Vinice (currently under construction) and the new tram depot in Slovany, which will have the largest green roof in the Czech Republic.

The event was followed by a meeting of the project's steering committee.
