The first Greek Regional Stakeholder Group Meeting took place on 21st of May 2019 at the premises of the Region of Thessaly,  with the presence of representatives of both public and private sector.

According to LP’s advice, the framework of this first meeting was to:

  •  introduce FINCH project to the attendees
  • present the role and responsibilities of the stakeholders group
  • put the basis for obtaining engagement and commitment to the project final objective.

Based on the above, the project coordinator outlined the functions of the RSG as a forum for active discussion reflecting the project objectives in the region and the methodology to best achieve the objectives regionally.

The project coordinator underlined to the stakeholders the aspect of interregional learning process as a participatory strategic thinking processes that heads to sharing knowledge and experiment in developing and bettering policy making in the regional level.

During the meeting, some initial suggestions arose regarding the Action Plan that Thessaly Region will address during the project period, as well as several obstacles were mentioned on the effectiveness of funding tools like crowdfunding and PPPs, in relation to the cultural heritage in Greece.

Finally it was agreed that - due to the topic’s complexity in terms of legislation and authorization in Greece - more and different stakeholders must be identified and invited to join the forthcoming meetings.
