On 6-December-2019, the Investitionsbank Sachsen-Anhalt (EN: Development Bank Saxony-Anhalt) brought together representatives from ministries and culture associations in the region for the 3rd FINCH stakeholder meeting.
The meeting kicked off with a review of the past study visits in Finland, Poland, and Magdeburg while highlighting relevant learnings. These findings were then combined with insights from the previously published questionnaire to establish common financing needs among cultural heritage sites in Saxony-Anhalt. As a result, the most promising starting points for improved financing and support structures were identified and discussed among the stakeholders. One of the chosen light financial tools was crowdfunding as it is a flexible and easy-to-use option which could potentially also be supported by public authorities.
After a lively discussion on the pros and cons of each presented measure, it was decided to move forward with the elaboration of several improvement measures and to work with select stakeholders to prepare a pilot to test one of the identified light financing tools.
The next regional stakeholder meeting in Saxony-Anhalt is planned for spring 2020.
