The Region of Thessaly, one of FINCH project partners, participated in the CrowdHeritage Launch Event, which took place at the Musix Lab of the Music Library "Lilian Voudouri" at the Athens Music Hall on 11th February 2020. The event was organised by the European project Crowdheritage in partnership with National Technical University of Athens, European Fashion Heritage Association, Europeana, Michael Culture Association and French Ministry of Culture and is co-financed by the Connecting Europe Facility of the European Union.
The CrowdHeritage platform was presented from its creators, while the participants had the opportunity to learn how to reuse it in their own context as well as join a crowdsourcing campaign to enrich the metadata quality of the cultural heritage domain and specifically the collection of photos from the personal archive of the internationally known opera bass singer Nicola Zaccaria, which will be showcased to the public the Music Library "Lilian Voudouri".
Especially, National Technical University of Athens presented the CrowdHeritage platform and its distinctive characteristics. Moreover, the European Fashion Heritage Association introduced the Crowdheritage campaigns to the audience. Besides, the French Ministry of Culture displayed an overview of the CrowdHeritage platform evaluation, while an introduction to the crowdsourcing campaign on Nicola Zaccaria photo archive was made by the Music Library "Lilian Voudouri". The event ended with crowdsourcing campaign activity and the award of the top three campaign winners.
