FINCH Project was invited by the Policy Learning Platform team to take part to the online discussion on "sustainable cultural tourism as an opportunity for local development" that took place on 19 March 2020.

The event was a great opportunity to:

  • share FINCH objectives, aims and good practices, discussing on fundraising strategies for the protection and enhancement of cultural heritage with particular reference to the Crowdfunding instrument
  • increase knowledge on the discussed topic  also with examples presented by othe Interreg Europe projects illustrating some of the recommendations on cultural heritage
  • learn about recent EU policy developments and exchange ideas with Interreg Europe community members and our European stakeholders.

More specifically, benefiting from the participation of a representative of  European Commission's Directorate General for  Education, Youth, Sport and Culture  the event focused on some Policy Recommendations elaborated by the Sustainable Cultural Tourism Open Method of Coordination working group (SCT OMC).  The Open Method of Coordination is a voluntary cooperation amongst European Member States, sharing and  exchanging best practices and experiences.

Please visit PLP website page to get a full overview of the tackled topics in the online discussion, but also to get advantage of previous PLP webinars, policy briefs, documents and forthcoming initiatives on cultural heritage and sustainable cultural tourism
