On February 20, 2020, the 4th meeting of the Lodzkie Region with the stakeholders of the FINCH project took place at the headquarters of the Lodzkie Region in Poland.
Stakeholders were represented by two institutions: the Institute of Contemporary Culture at the University of Lodz and the Museum of Art in Lodz.
The first point was a brief summary of examples of the organization and financing of cultural institutions in partner countries. Project partners from Romania, Germany, Greece and Italy presented their good practices in this semester. Their practices contained a lot of information that have been interesting for Lodzkie such as crowdfunding for culture or various models of PPP (examples from Italy and Germany). The most interesting for Lodzkie Region has been the experience related to crowdfunding because it seems relatively easy to adapt in Polish reality.
The next and main issue was the preparation of the Regional Action Plan which will contain proposals for projects contributing to the economic and social development of the Region connected with the new forms of investment financing in the cultural sector and protection of cultural heritage. During the meeting, the main directions in which the Action Plan should follow were discussed. The challenge was to find a financing method that everyone would like to support because each institution had different experience and profile. The relatively low involvement of the private sector in culture also remains a challenge. Stakeholders were also construed on the selection of an expert institution that could prepare recommendations for the Action Plan. Their contribution was very useful. The action plan will be prepared with the participation of a wider group of experts, which should positively influence its conclusions.
Finally, the agenda of the meeting in Larissa (Greece) on 10-11 March 2020 was presented and the issues connected with stakeholders participation in the event were discussed.
