FIRESPOL project partner in Latvia, MoEPRD, attended the seminar “Community-owned wind farms - benefits, obstacles and development opportunities in Latvia” which was organized for the EU Horizon 2020 project “Increasing public support for wind energy” (WinWind) as a workshop of transfer of knowledge.

During the seminar, various issues concerning the development of wind parks in Latvia were discussed, success factors in creating community wind parks in Germany, possibilities for transferring German experience in Latvia and possible scenario for this area’s development in Latvia was presented. Also, parallel work group sessions were organized to discuss initiatives to stimulate wind farm communities in Latvia.

In the seminar, both Latvian and German experts were present as well as state and academic sectors were represented.
