We are now approaching the end of the first year of Phase II of the project, where the implementation and monitoring of the Action Plan takes place. Unfortunately, the implications caused from the COVID-19 pandemic have contributed to a change in the initial timeframe of all actions envisioned in the Action Plan. As a result, our original timeframe has changed towards completing all 3 actions inside April-July 2021. More specifically:
Action #1: Creation of templates with predefined green criteria for a specific range of products (cleaning products)
The original timeframe was the following:
• select the ecological criteria for product categories by the end of March 2020
• create bidding templates by the end of May 2020
• evaluate the results by the end of March 2021
This timeframe has been changed and as a result:
• creating bidding is expected to be completed by the end of December 2020
• for the first calls for bids and evaluation of results, it is estimated that they will be completed by the end of May 2021.

• the Department of Technical Services will prepare the corresponding report by the end of July 2021.
• the tender supplies and their installation are expected to be completed by the end of 2021.
• the knowledge exchanging will be carried out in the remaining months of 2021.
Action #3: Changing public lighting with LED lamps
Regarding Action 3, the Region of Western Greece have successfully contacted a contractor, who deliverered the study for the assessment of the current situation in the street lighting network in Western Greece, which will determine the needs for the replacement of LED lamps in the street lighting network, so this task has already been carried out.
The original timeframe was the following:
• the technical service would prepare a report on costs, technologies, annual savings and payback time by the end of October 2020
• the tender supplies and installation would be completed by the end of May 2021
• exchanging knowledge between technical services and procurement services and municipalities by the end of December 2021
This timeframe has been changed and as a result:
• the Department of Technical Services will prepare the respective report by the end of February 2021.
• the tender procurement is expected to be completed in August 2021.
• the knowledge exchanging will be carried out in the remaining months of 2021.
So far, we consider that all our actions are fully feasible, even inside the COVID-19 crisis and the representative of the body responsible for the Policy Instrument will make all efforts towards fully implementing all actions of our Action Plan.
